Bygone Morgans is dedicated to the preservation of the classic American Morgan Horse. We have carefully researched the bloodlines and chosen specific individuals as the foundation of our breeding program. We are looking for the big eye, gorgeous head, a sturdy neck and shoulder, good legs, and a free-flowing drive from behind movement.

Beyond the basic physical conformation requirements, the Morgan Registry also lists “tractability” as an important characteristic of the breed. Tractability is defined as a quality of being easily managed or controlled; governable. It is further defined as being easily handled or worked or malleable. This is one of the most important facets of our horses. We are breeding for excellent moving athletic horses. We believe that there is no reason to have anything less than a pleasant and willing equine companion.

Not only can Morgans do it all, but they are now competing with the Warmbloods in Eventing, Competitive Driving and Dressage. In some of the latest dressage articles, the Morgan is being recognized as not only having the neededtemperment, easy collection and implusion, but also healthy and stable! We recognize that not all Morgans are built for these disciplines, but the Funquest and Beamington lines have been isolated as some of the best.

Bygone Morgans is a proud member farm of the AMHA and the Mid-America Sport Horse Association.
